@subes,
HI, I am running this game on Manjaro Linux via Lutris and I am stuck in the stacked deck territory unable to unlock newer territories and progress in the campaign. I got so far by finishing almost every race except all of the drift races and 2 of the 3 race wars. I tried the method subes mentioned and was able to edit the "MaxScore" of 102 items to 1000. When I try to run the game from Lutris again, nothing changes. The opponent AI score is just as high as it always was.

To make the mod easier, download NFS-VltEd and open the game folder in it. Then use the Edit->Search->Field to search for each instance of
- "MaxScore" to desired lower value for each drift trigger to reduce how many points the AI can gain per section (with 1000 in each trigger you will win every event)
- "SkillLevel" to desired lower value for each AI racer. 80 is still challenging, 60 is ok and still depends on the car and race, 40 should be very easy.
- aivehicle->default->racers/cops offers more options

And also, did any of yall devs actually play your own damn levels before setting those scores? because from what I know even drift masters got absolutely cucked over by traffic bots appearing out of fckin nowhere and runing the drift streak.... just why.

Lazuli (October 24, 2025 @ 03:09)
I dont know which idiot decided it was a good idea TO ADD TRAFFIC BOTS into the canyon drifts when the points requirements are already atrocious as is. Yall need to remove them altogether and dial the difficulty down by at least 15% if you intend to keep them. You guys just softlocked like half your playerbase because of stupidly OP drift bots.
