NFS Attrib Loader

NFS Attrib Loader for NFS Most Wanted allows you to load VLT ModScript files without manually importing them via NFS-VltEd.
This lets you manage your mods more easily, as you no longer need to keep file backups in order to uninstall mods.

If you're a modder, you can use NFS Attrib Loader to make your mods easier to install by removing the manual VltEd import step.

UPDATE 1.0.1: Fixed modifications to the "light_flares_cg" node.

NFS Attrib Loader is compatible with Plak Graphics, Most Wanted Online, your old VltEd mods and pretty much everything else!

Unpack the attached archive into the game's main directory and you're good to go!

Place your .nfsms mod scripts into a folder named AttribMods inside the game's main folder.

Example:

Scripts from the AttribMods folder will get loaded automatically every time you launch the game.
If the AttribMods folder contains other subfolders, Attrib Loader will load them as well, including their own subfolders and so on.

Mod scripts and folders beginning with the '!' character are skipped to allow you to easily disable mods or whole modpacks.

If any scripts contain errors, you will see a warning message when you launch the game:

This does not stop the game or any other scripts from loading, but it may behave incorrectly.

The NFSAttribLoader.MostWanted.log file will have more detailed info about the error:

Limitations:

Scripts loaded via NFS Attrib Loader cannot modify the 'frontend' and 'gameplay' VLT nodes. This may or may not get fixed in future updates.
Excessively complex scripts (especially if they do destructive operations like deleting fields or nodes) may not work correctly.

Keeping mods user friendly for newcomers and for people in general should always be a top priority so I'm really glad you made this tool, this is awesome!!
