NFSMW Crossfire - Pursuit Mod
CROSSFIRE - The biggest pursuit overhaul
NFSMW Crossfire is a pursuit mod that greatly expands the base game's pursuit system.
With the help of NFSMW Bartender by oldmanjenkins, cops were made much harder, and 4 gamemodes were added to Heat levels 7, 8, 9 and 10.
Crossfire also adds some lore about the cops, and Bartender allows for new mechanics in the Heat levels.
Features:
- Greatly increased difficulty for vanilla Heat levels (Heat 6 is especially hard);
- Unique gamemodes for Heat levels 7 through 10 (4 challenges were changed to include them);
- New mechanics (thanks to Bartender and some creativity);
- Modified the player cars of over 12 challenges, some of which are exclusive to Crossfire;
- Optional rework for Blacklist Milestones and Bounty requirements;
- Optional difficulty increase for many Challenges;
- Optional modified SMS messages that explain some of the lore and mechanics of the mod;
- Optional bundled mod: Healthbars for cops by trelbutate (possibly incompatible with LimitAdjuster);
- And more!
New mechanics, made possible with Bartender and some creativity:
- Heat levels will increase when you damage or destroy police vehicles;
- Undercover cops won't show up on radar;
- Groups of 3 stronger police cars may appear sometimes (pursuit leaders);
- Heat 6's max Bounty combo is increased for a risk/reward mechanic (some other levels have this too);
- Some vehicles are exclusive to roadblocks (more relevant for non-vanilla Heat levels);
- A very peculiar bug with collisions was explored to make Rhinos that fling you possible;
- And many more mechanics included in the non-vanilla Heat levels!
Cops from Vanilla Heat levels:
- Heat 1: Civic Cruisers and an occasional Light SUV.
- Heat 2: Same as above, but with Undercover Civic Cruisers and more SUVs.
- Heat 3: Street Racing Unit (SRU) takes control: Now with State Cruisers.
- Heat 4: The SRU now uses heavier SUVs, Undercover State Cruisers and a Helicopter.
- Heat 5: Crossfire Division (CFD) takes control: Federal Cruisers, Heavy SUVs and more.
- Heat 6: FBI's VRT unit takes control: Undercover Federal Cruisers and heavier versions of the above.
Special Heat levels:
HEAT 07: Bounty Attack
In this Heat level, you lose Bounty every 15 seconds. Your goal is to rack up as much Bounty (called Score in here) as you can.
The max Combo for this level is 10, so try to keep killing cops. There will be multiple vehicles, each with its own purpose: Weak & Strong targets for generic destruction, Bonus targets that reward you with lots of Score, Bomb targets that take Score from you, Surprise vehicles in roadblocks that can either be Bonuses or Bombs, Combo Keepers that will help you keep your Combo high, Phantom vehicles that can't be touched (you have to destroy
them with Pursuit Breakers) and don't appear on the map, etc.
HEAT 08: Road Rage
In this level, you will be chased by heavy NPC vehicles who got really mad at you making their insurance more expensive.
They are not cops, so NONE of them will show up on your minimap! You'll have to trust your eyes and gut to deal with them.
HEAT 09: On the Run
In this level, you can be busted from large distances and at very high speeds, so never stop running!
There are two main categories of vehicles: Chasers, which are weaker and faster cars designed to always keep up with you, and Enforcers, stronger, slower and bigger vehicles designed to slow you down.
There will be lots of very strong roadblocks, which forces you to frequently change your path instead of staying on the highway.
HEAT 10: Invincible FBI
This level is the same as Heat 6, but with a twist: ALL cops have infinite HP and masses, and can only be destroyed with Pursuit Breakers.
Roadblocks will also have vehicles with infinite masses; however, they always have ONE vehicle with the model of a Light SUV and a heavy mass. In case you can't avoid the roadblock, try hitting that vehicle instead.
What do I need to install Crossfire?
