Orange NFS MusicEd UI (ONME)

GUI tool for editing music in NFS Carbon / Most Wanted

Heads up

This thing hasn't been tested a whole lot, so there are probably bugs. If you find one, feel free to report it - just be cool about it. I only listen to feedback from people who are reasonable and polite. Bugs get fixed when I have free time.

About

This is a graphical frontend for editing music in Need for Speed Carbon and Most Wanted. It wraps the command-line tools (MPFmaster, FFmpeg, sx) into a single window so you don't have to mess with batch files or command prompts.

The tool lets you unpack MUS/MPF archives, convert ASF audio to WAV for editing, then convert back and repack. It's designed to make the music modding workflow faster and more accessible.

Features

- Unpacks and repacks MUS / MPF archives
- Converts ASF <-> WAV in one or two clicks
- Side-by-side file list (ASF on left, WAV on right)
- Built-in player so you can preview tracks
- Replace individual tracks with your own WAV files
- Works with English and Chinese UI

Supported games

- Need for Speed Carbon
- Need for Speed Most Wanted
- Probably other NFS titles that use the same MUS/MPF format (untested)

How to use

1. Click "Select MUS File" and pick your .mus file. The matching .mpf is found automatically.
2. Pick a mode:
One-Click Full Convert - extracts everything and converts all ASF to WAV. Good if you want to edit multiple tracks.
Extract ASF Only - just pulls out the ASF files. Convert them one by one as needed.
3. Edit the WAV files in your audio editor of choice. 44100 Hz / 16-bit is recommended.
4. Convert your edited WAVs back to ASF.
5. Hit "Pack to MUS" to rebuild the archive. Your original files get backed up automatically with a timestamp.
