NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered: Hardline+

Hardline+ is a gameplay expansion and rebalance mod for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered.

The goal is to improve and expand the single-player experience while keeping the game close to Criterion’s original style. Hardline+ updates event balance, AI behavior, car selection, police difficulty, vehicle durability, economy progression, DLC vehicle usage, and adds new bonus content through Advanced+ and Challenge Series.

- Revamped AI car selection across events
- DLC cars integrated into more races, pursuits, and selections
- Open Selection for most events
- Rebalanced event payouts and vehicle unlock economy
- Harder Hot Pursuits, Gauntlets, Time Trials, Interceptors, and Races
- Smarter/faster Racer AI
- More aggressive police behavior
- Reworked durability for racers, cops, and player vehicles
- Adjusted cop loadouts, weapons, respawns, and pursuit pressure
- Extended routes for several events
- Several Race/Gauntlet events converted into Hot Pursuits
- Patrol Mode restoration for Racer and Cop side
- Integrated vehicle stat fixes
- Optional online-safe gameplay file with vanilla unlocks

Advanced+:

Advanced+ is the expanded gameplay version of Hardline+. It includes the bigger gameplay changes, restored/experimental content, Patrol Mode, Challenge Series support, and extra single-player systems that go beyond the base Vanilla+ style balancing.

Advanced+ includes:

- Advanced+ nitrous and pursuit behavior changes
- Heavier police pressure
- Longer helicopter range and duration
- Reworked bust parameters
- Additional single-player gameplay edits
- Challenge Series event support
- Add-on Challenge Series preset cars
- Experimental bonus content

Advanced+ is intended for players who want the full Hardline+ expansion experience.

Update 22:

Introducing Challenge Series for Hot Pursuit Remastered!

The Hardline+ Challenge Series is inspired by the Challenge Series modes from Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) and Need for Speed: Carbon.

This is my attempt at creating a Criterion-style Challenge Series for Hot Pursuit Remastered, built around special preset cars, themed events, promo-style vehicles, cut content, traffic cars, police variants, and experimental bonus challenges. They are unlocked from the beginning and are available at the top right corner of the main map.

Challenge Series V1 includes:

- 13 add-on Racer events
- A dedicated Challenge Series event location on the map
- 11 add-on Challenge Series preset cars
- Custom Hot Pursuit, Race, and Duel events
- Custom event-specific logic
- Custom event strings, vehicle descriptions, and vehicle stats

These events are bonus content and are not meant to replace the main career. Some are serious, some are experimental, and some are intentionally unusual.

Challenge Series is currently ONLY part of the Advanced+ package. It CANNOT be mixed/matched with base Hardline+/other event mods.

Regular Updates:
- Weapon delay time has been cut in half for Highway Battle's weapon loadout
- Stampede has been updated to allow for all Gallardos again on both versions
- Adjusted the balancing of Seacrest Tour, AI should be more forgiving if you crash instead of shooting off. This change is passed down to standard Hardline+.
- Improvements have been made to Cop Behavior in Seacrest Tour (Advanced+ only)
- Cayenne Cop is now selectable for certain career events, such as Porsche Patrol. (Advanced+ only)

The full update history has now been moved to the included Update List.txt file.

Hardline+ has received many event edits, hotfixes, economy changes, gameplay adjustments, Patrol Mode updates, Advanced+ changes, and Challenge Series additions over time. The full list is still included for documentation, but it has been moved out of the main description to keep this page readable.

Important Notes:

This update has been tested, but crashes or bugs may still happen depending on your install, other mods, edited files, or unsupported setups.

I am not responsible for issues caused by:

- Mixed installs
- Modified Hardline+ files
- Other event mods
- Unsupported manual edits
- Old files from previous versions
- Users editing or repackaging the mod
- Skill issues from Time Trials (lol)

Use a clean install where possible and backup your files before installing. If you are struggling with a certain event, I recommend watching gameplay videos or using YouTube as a reference.

Do not redistribute edited Hardline+ files or modified versions of this update without permission.

Modified Hardline+ files are unsupported. Bug reports are only accepted if the issue can be reproduced on the official release.

So far I think this mod is interesting but very inconsistant. Open selection events are super easy and exploitable but the rest of them range from challenging fun to sadisticly unfair. I'll name examples of the worst offenders I've encountered so far in the next comment.

just too tanky for it to be viable to smash into them to do any notable damage, and you do not get enough weapons to use them a lot, and are usually wasted on Racers jammers. I have gotten very good at the event, but it was mainly down to RNG whether I got roadblock busts and whether the racers used jammers a ton or not. The event is far more about RNG than it is skill given the length and speed at which the Racers go. This is not a complaint, it is just a little criticism. I do REALLY love this mod!

I am making this comment out of pure love and interest of this mod, because the vanilla game is insanely easy. After playing with this mod for at least 5 hours, there's one major thing I need to say, please do something about the End of the Line event for cops, I understand its supposed to be insanely difficult, but it is more RNG dependant on whether you get a good crash or roadblock stationary bust than real skill, and you depend on that for a lot of the event because the racers are (continued comment)

I think it would be fair to balance it more, I think a little to be more fair, since being first in the hot pursuits you are an easy target. I was trying many times, but it seems more stressful, but still your intention is very good, and you did a great job, hopefully you can check it out if you think you can make some changes, or even improve the experience more.

The latest updates are much better, more interesting, and motivate you to keep playing, even breaking the record of the original cars to be fairer, even if it means more difficult, although the only complaint is that sometimes the AI of the racers when it has already passed you, easily advances so much that you can not even catch it, and the other I feel that life is too short to be arrested easily
